What I'm Wearing #6

I know I'm a day late (as usual) but better late than never!

Here's a look at last week's outfits:

I made an IKEA trip with my dear friend and her adorable boy.  I wanted something a little brighter than usual because I was in a major wardrobe rut last week (if you couldn't tell from last week's lack of pictures.)

I made this shirt using the amazing Jen's tutorial (one more thing checked off my craft To-Do list!)

And paired it with my favorite yellow flats.
Pink wave shirt: Forever 21 with embellishments by me
Dark wash jeans: Bullhead (Pac Sun)
Yellow flats: Charlotte Russe

I know you're all saying, "But Courtney, didn't you just say last week you weren't going to wear jeans as often?"  It true, I did say that.  I forgot to mention, however, that I happen to be the biggest klutz on the face of the planet.  No joke.  I have a talent for running into inanimate objects.

These unslightly tokens of those unfortunate meetings made me stick to jeans for a few days until they calmed down a bit.

My youngest brother turned 16 over the weekend so we headed over to my mom's Saturday to celebrate.  This outfit was both cute and comfy and look! no jeans!
Red t-shirt: Forever 21
Plaid sundress: Holister
Black lace-trimmed leggings: Miley Cyrus/Max Azria
Silver sandals: Stolen Borrowed from my sister :)

Sunday I wanted to dress up a bit more than I usually do for church. And it was so nice out!
White skirt: Had it so long I don't remember.  I think it's from Gadzooks, which is out of business now

Brown floral tank: Old Navy
Denim blazer: Gap
Wooden beads: Forever 21

Brown wedges: gift from my mother-in-law

Peach lilly studs: this adorable Etsy shop, Bijoux by Allison

Tuesday night was our wards' enrichment night.  I was in a hurry so the hubs snapped a quick pic for me before I dashed out the door.
Purple lacy tank: Forever 21
Black and white striped tee: Urban Outfitters
Skinny jeans: thrifted American Eagle
Black bead and flower necklace: made by me! (tutorial coming soon!)

I look really tan in this picture :)

And this is yesterday's outfit.  I ran errands with my sister-in-law and the little man.

Black and tan floral shirt: Full Tilt from Tilly's
Skinny jeans: thrifted American Eagle
Black sandals: Charlotte Russe
Turquoise and silver necklace and bracelet: from New Mexico

There!  I really tried to not only put more thought into my outfits this past week, but to also remember to take pictures!

Checking Off That To-Do List Part 1

Yesterday I made a significant dent in my summer projects To-Do list.  I knocked out 4 (yes, 4!) projects yesterday afternoon whilst the little man napped.  Here's what I got done:

Busted out the mod podge and made myself a tin can pincushion.  Well, it's a frosting can, but the effect is the same.  I used Living with Punkstutorial to make it.

I FINALLY made my sweater and pearl necklace after drooling over it for months after seeing it over at Craftaholics Anonymous.

I changed mine up just a bit by adding a second, ruffly flower in the center of the big sweater flower.  I'm very happy with how it turned out and can't wait to wear it.

Months and months ago, Jen from Tatertots and Jello had posted a tutorial on how to make springy wreath using old spoons.  I loved it.  Then, using that as inspiration, Ann Marie from White House, Black Shutters made her own version and I loved that one even more!  So, with the extra silverware from some other projects, I made me one.

It's hanging out on my porch.  I really liked how it turned out.  I had a bit of a problem getting the silverware to stay together-they wanted to slip and slide around-but using my crafty skills, I made them behave : )

Last but not least, I jazzed up this glass jar that has become my son's shell display.  Even though he's only 19 months old, he loves to pick up shells at the beach.  I washed out a big sauce jar and put the shells in there.  But then there was the lid.  The ugly, saucy (not literally) lid.  I wanted something that would be natural-looking and boy-ish.  Burlap it was.  Tied on with a little jute, which can be untied so the lid can come off to add more shells.  Perfect.

They need some better organizing to show them off better, but you get the idea.

Little man woke up just as I was finishing up my silverware wreath.  So I gave him my can of buttons to play with.

He had a blast putting them in the can and then dumping them back out.

If I had only known that he would find buttons so entertaining, I would have let him play with them a long time ago!

And that's what I did yesterday. I'm hoping to knock out a few more this weekend.

My Project To-Do List

With me being out last week, and my blog swapping buddy for this week dealing with sickness, this week's Who's That has been moved to next week.  And I didn't have anything for yesterday's Handmade Goodie, either.  Sorry guys.

But there are many projects on the horizon.  I've got a whole list.  Seriously.  Here's some of the things I hope to get done before summer's over:

Just found this today via Mod Podge Rocks and I can't wait to make one for myself!  Check out the tutorial over  at Living with Punks.

My little man would love a boy-version of this super-cool cardboard playhouse.  This one was made by the ever-so-talented Kimbo of A Girl and A Glue Gun-you can find the tutorial here.

Jen from Tatertots and Jello shared this awesome Anthro-inspired tee over at 30Days and I love it!  I've already got the tees, now to just sit down and do it!

I've been wanting to make a wreath for a long time and this cardboard lovely from Elise Blaha is just what I've been looking for.

Another lovely from the uber talented Jen.  What a fun way to dress up your outfit!  Find her easy tutorial over at Tatertots and Jello.

I'll post pics of my projects as I finish them.  And there's some more that I'm working on that are all in my head, so I should have plenty to keep me busy!
