{A Glance} Projects in Progress

I wanted to give you all a glimpse at some projects I'm currently working on yesterday, but due to my dog chewing through our cable, our internet was down.  Don't ask.  But it's up and running today, so here they are.

Oh, how I love spray paint and its magical transformative powers.  You may recognize some of these goodies from my recent thrifting post.

This pretty frame got a coat of white and tomorrow it's getting glazed (I found some at Lowe's today-I knew they wouldn't disappoint!)

And this one got a coat of lovely blue and will get glazed tomorrow, too.

My candlesticks are now brown and are going to be used to

Turn these babies into pedestal birdhouses!  Or, bird castles as the little man calls them.  As soon as they are dry (they both had to get second coats today) and after a little sanding to roughen up the edges, I'll be putting them together.

{Fab Finds} Thrifting Awesomeness!

Last week was a good week for scoring some awesome thrifted goodies.

It all started when I needed a lamp shade for a lamp make-over I'm working on (it's almost done so pics will be coming soon, along with the rest of the story) so after looking EVERYWHERE, it finally dawned on me to check Goodwill.  Duh.  I'm so glad that I went.  Not only did I find the perfect shade for only $4, I found some other great deals.

Like this pretty picture frame.  I think it was only $2.  It's going to be getting a new coat of paint and some glaze to bring out its lovely details.

Same with this beauty.  I loved the carved designs in the corners.  And at $2 it was a steal!

I've been on the hunt for some cheap candlesticks for some pedestal projects I've been wanting to do and at $1 each, they fit the bill.

Then Thursday, I took a little trip downtown to kill some time and I found the cutest little shop (which I will definitely be going to more often!) and bought these darling hand-made earrings for only $7

Anybody know what this is?  Any guesses?  {I know what it is, just testing your knowledge of old, obscure objects : ) }  I've been looking for one for a while-we had a couple that were my mom's in our house growing up and I always thought they were neat-but they're hard to find.  This beauty was only $6!

While at said charming shop, I learned that there was going to be an awesome flea market downtown on Saturday.  I, of course, went to check it out.  I found this pretty vintage owl necklace for only $3!!!  How could I NOT get it?!

And this pretty paper fan for $2.  It's got some stains, as you can see, but I've got plans for it.

Last, but certainly not least, this cute little table.  It's now sitting in our entry way, storing our games and extra candles.  Guess how much I got it for?  $30!!  I'm so happy with it-it is exactly what I've been looking for and at the price I wanted, two very good things.

Have any great finds lately?
