Friend Makin' Mondays-5 Questions

Another Monday and that means another Friend Makin' Monday!

This is what brightens my Monday-getting to meet other people!

Amber made an announcement today regarding Friend Makin' Mondays-she's handing the reins over to Kenlie of All the Weigh.  I'm sad that Amber's no longer going to be hosting, but I've enjoyed meeting Kenz and getting to know her-I know she'll carry on FMM splendidly!

Now, on to this week's topic.

Five Little Questions

1.) What was the most enjoyable part of your weekend?

We went over to my mom's house this weekend to celebrate my baby brother's 16th birthday!  Both sets of my grandparents were there, so it was a house full of family.  I loved it!  And my mom made delicious enchiladas and ice cream cake!

2.) List two or three material possessions you can't live without.  I'm a simple girl, really.  I don't need a lot of "stuff."  Leave me my camera, laptop and phone and I'm good.  Camera, because I love taking pictures and recording moments and being able to look back at them later.  Laptop, because that's how I keep in touch with the outside world and where I store my ideas and pictures.  Phone, because that's how I call for help when I need it, talk to my sweetheart when he's away for work.  Basically, it's my life line when I need to reach someone.

3.) Which day are you most looking forward to in the coming week?  Hmm...that's a toughy because I actually have things going on this week!  I know it sounds cliche, but I'm really looking forward to the weekend: Friday night I'm going to the temple with my hubby and in-laws and Saturday, the little man is attending his first birthday party.

4.) Share one of your most embarrassing stories.  I don't actually have many.  I'm not easily embarrassed!  Now, I'm sure I have some that other people would consider embarrassing.  I run into a lot of inanimate objects, which always give my hubby a good laugh at my expense :)  And once, during a drama production in college, I forgot a line but I don't think anyone noticed.

5.) List 3 of your "must read" blog and why we should read them, too!

1. Sweetie Pie Pumpkin Noodle.  Jackie's blog was one of the first I found when I began blogging-I love all of her design loves and I find a ton of decorating inspiration there.

2. Myla Rose.  This is my good friend's blog.  Aside from her being my real-life buddy, I love to see what she comes up with.  We have similar tastes and I find her ideas inspiring.  She's been on a bit of a blogging break lately (she's pregnant with #2 and her little guy keeps her really busy) but you can flip through her old posts-they're great!

3.  Tatertots and Jello.  Jen's blog has something for everyone and I love all of the things she comes up with.  She also shares great ideas by other tremendously talented ladies, which has led me to many a wonderful blog.

There you have it!  Head on over to All the Weigh and join in the fun!

Friend Makin' Mondays

It's Monday and that means it's time for Friend Makin' Mondays!  I'm so glad it's back!

I like...that fall is right around the corner.  Fall is such a nice change of pace after the oppressive heat here in Florida.  And I like all of the things associated with fall, like Halloween, Thanksgiving, the changing leaves, carving pumpkins, pumpkin pie and the anticipation of Christmas right around the corner.

I don't like...people that act all high and mighty and talked down to others like they are superior, when in actuality, they're duller than a box of rocks.  Trying to sound like you know it all only makes you sound like an idiot.

I love...when my husband comes home after work and our son runs up to him, crying "Daddy!" the whole way.  It just warms my heart.

I dream of...owning my own photography studio one day.

I wonder...when we'll have more kids.  And if we are blessed with more children, what they'll be like.

I know...that I have been greatly blessed in my life and am extremely grateful to my Father in Heaven for that.

I went...to the beach this weekend and it was heaven.  I love having it so close!

I have...a headache today.  Actually, I've had a headache for like a week.  It's getting annoying.

I think...I underestimate myself.  A lot.  I need to stop doing that.

I plan...on finally learning how to use my sewing my machine by the end of the year.  I've got 3 months!

I do...want to be the best me I can.  I want to be the best mom for my son, the best wife to my husband and be able to say at the end of the day, "I did all that I could."

I regret...not being a better student in high school and for letting so many good opportunities pass me by.  I also regret not taking charge of my wedding-there are so many things I'd like to change (just details, really, but things that a girl would notice about her wedding day.)

I drink...chocolate milk like it's my job.

I wish...my daddy lived closer.  I miss seeing him.

I am...a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints.  And I am not ashamed of my beliefs.

I am not...afraid to stand up for what I believe.  But I won't stop you from having your own opinion, even if it's different from mine.

I need...some key lime pie.

I graduated...from high school over 7 years ago!

I hope...to continue to reach the goals that I set for myself.

I want...all of my family to be closer.  I want my son to know his cousins and aunts and uncles and to build lasting relationships with them.

I sometimes...get down.  There are days that I feel completely alone and unimportant.  I try not to dwell on those days.

I always...try to find the good in things.

I can...make an awesome chicken alfredo lasagna.

I work...very hard at the goals I've set for myself, though sometimes not hard enough.

I cannot...stand when people judge others.  I try my hardest to not do that, because it's not my place to determine whether or not you're a good person, because I don't know what it is to be you.  Just like you don't know what it is to be me.

I avoid...people that will bring negativity into my life.  I just don't have any room for that.

I will...continue to challenge myself all the days of my life.

And there you have it!

Head on over to All the Weigh, where Kenz is hosting this week's FMM, so you can join in on the fun!

Making Friends

Yeah, yeah, I know it's Wednesday, but this week got off to a rough start, so I'm kind of playing catch up now.  Bear with me, please.

I've wanted to join in on {a.e. filkins} Friend Making Mondays and decided this was the week to do it.  Honestly, I don't know what I hadn't up til now.  Anyways, here we go:

1. Favorite things about Spring:
All of the beautiful flowers blooming, the gorgeous weather and knowing that it's getting closer to beach weather!

2. What I'm doing for Spring Break:
Nothing, really.  Moms don't get a spring break.  I'll probably be hanging out with my SIL, getting some things made for the Etsy shop, shopping and taking a beach trip/trip to my mom's.

3. Favorite Spring flower:
I love lillies, poppies and gerber daisies

4. Do you have a garden?
Not yet, but I'm planting my herb garden next week!

5. If so, what do you grow.
Herbs for now, and I'm also going to plant some poppies.

6. Do you do Spring cleaning?
Oh yeah!  I'm in the middle of it right now.

7. What is your weather *really* like right now? {Just b/c it's "officially" spring, doesn't mean that it feels like it for some of you}
Today is it lovely-sunny with a slight breeze, somewhere in the 70's.  Though springtime in FL does mean rain.  We had some all day Sunday.

8. Snapped any weather related photos lately? Share one with us!
I haven't : (

9. What's your favorite thing to do on a sunny afternoon?
Go for walks with my son, take him down to the "lake" to feed the ducks and open all my windows to the let breeze in

10. Favorite TV show right now?
24, though I'm like two episodes behind.  Thank goodness for the internet!
