HELP!

Guys, I am in desperate need of your assistance.  I cannot for the life of me find a project that I've been looking for for almost a month now!  It's an anniversary present that someone made called "A Year of Dates."  It was a sort of mini scrapbook with a tab for each month and a date for that month for an entire year.
When my computer died, I lost my bookmarks, and for the life of me, I can't remember where I saw this. It was sometime at the beginning of this year or at the very earliest, the very end of last year. Google has failed me-search after search has yielded nothing.  If you remember seeing it, please let me know where!!!  And ask your friends!

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much!

Fashion Fridays: Mishaps and What I'm Wearing #9 Catch-Up

I had a little fashion mishap yesterday.  It really made me laugh, actually.
When I get bored with my hair, I dye it.  I like to use semi-permanent, since I'm a bit of a commitment-phobe when it comes to my hair color.  That, and I don't want to be stuck re-dying my hair all of the time.  Well, sometimes when I dye it, I like to highlight it too.  Yesterday I did just that.

Here's what happened.  Something went terribly wrong and I ended up with a super blonde patch right on my part.  Seriously, it was so blonde that from a distance, I looked bald!  And, as you can see from the picture, it wasn't the whole strand of hair, just a chunk right. on. my. part.

No worries, though.  I was able to fix it : )

I'm WAAAAAAY behind on What I'm Wearing.  I know, I know, what am I NOT behind on?  Well, to catch up, here's one massive post.  Sorry if this leaves you with WIW overload : )

This was from a day out shopping with my mom.
Black and white stripped tee: Urban Outfitters
Grey tank: American Eagle
Red belt: Kohls
Dark skinny jeans: thrifted American Eagle
Grey flats: Charlotte Russe

Back at the beginning of October, you might remember that I took a trip to Utah.  Here are some of my outfits from my trip.

Brown sweater: American Eagle
Cream tank: Forever 21
Floral zipper tank: thrifted Forever 21
Dark skinny jeans: thrifted American Eagle

Blue tee: Forever 21
Stripped tank: Nollie (Pac Sun)
Dark skinny jeans: thrifted American Eagle

Yellow skinnies: thifted Forever 21

I am absolutely IN LOVE with these shoes!  I found them at TJ Maxx and knew instantly that I needed to have them.  The picture does not do them justice and I promise to get a better picture so you can see them better.

This is the back of my shirt.  I love the contrasting stripes and the big utility zipper.  And it's got that great shirt-tail detail.  Love it!

So, after repeated attempts, I still managed to cut off my head, but oh well.  I love love love this dress!  I've been looking for a white dress for ages and my dad got me this one.  From H&M of all places : )

White shirt dress: H&M
Purple ruffle heels: Steve Madden
Pearl and chain necklace: Charlotte Russe

This was one of our last days in Utah.  I was unprepared for this picture, hence the "Huh?" look on my face : )
Cuffed sweater: thifted Talbots and fixed up by me

My mom recently gave me this skirt and I just love it!  This was the first time I got to wear it a few Sundays ago.
Dark green shirt: Banana Republic
Khaki skirt: hand-me-down from my momma
Brown heels: gift from my hubby

I went down to Fort Myers to visit my grandparents a few weeks ago and we went on a haunted train ride.

The little man likes to get in my pics every now and then-I think it's cute : )

Aren't these tights awesome?!  I snatched them up from Forever 21 in Utah.  They're actually really light-weight.  I love the color of them and plan to wear them a lot more this winter!

Saying Thanks

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of the brave veterans.  Without their commitment and sacrifice, our country wouldn't have the freedoms that it does.  I am proud to be the daughter, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law and grand-daughter of veterans and I am grateful for their service to my country.  Thank you!
I hope that today you feel honored to have served your country and you know how grateful we are for your service.

Who's That: A Girl and A Glue Gun

Today's guest blogger is the lovely Kimbo from A Girl and A Glue Gun.  Take it away, Kimbo!

A girl and a glue gun

Hey there! I'm super excited to be here at Scraps and Scribbles!
Today I'm fancying up some gloves!

So this was for my daughter's Halloween costume...but she liked
them so much I thought she could wear them all year round (and I say
ALL year round cause Idaho is cold ALL YEAR ROUND!)

My 1.50 purchase...thank you very much Sam Walton

I snipped off the finger part

and broke out my embroidery floss....love it...

I tuck in the extra and then...

stitch around it with my floss--(you will have to use a needle with a
little larger eye than normal!)

I also did an accent around the bottom

you won't want to do it too tight...or you won't be able to
slip  your hand in....and don't do it too loose or
the thread will hang there. So do it JUST right okay?
Okay. I know...easier said than done!!!

I added a little flower and tulle held together with some floss...

Now, I'm not so sure how warm her fingers will be....but when you look
this stylish...what's a little frostbite!?

since I'm a hoader..I'm trying to find a use for these:

any suggestions?

Come over and visit me at A Girl and A Glue Gun! I've got an awesome giveaway going on...and  I
am in full on christmas mode...trying to crank out some homemade
christmas presents!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, Kimbo!  I hope you all head over to A Girl and A Glue Gun and say hi to Kimbo.  Check out all of her awesome crafts while you're over there!

Hand-made Goodie of the Week: Quick Fall Sign

It's no secret, I like simple things.  This little Fall sign took all of 15 minutes to make and I love it.

To make yours, you'll need:

Letters to spell out "Fall"-I used scrapbook stickers that I got on clearance a few months back
Four wooden rectangles-can be found at Michaels or Joann's
Brown paint
Ribbon
Hot glue and glue gun

Start by giving your wooden rectangles a coat of brown paint.  You can used whatever color you want, but to me, brown is a fall-ish color.  Plus, I really wanted to keep the wooden feel of the rectangles.

Let them dry.  Once dry, center and attach your letters.

Like so.

Cut a length of ribbon long enough to string behind your rectangles and have some extra for the bottom and to make a loop at the top.  My piece was about a foot long.

Make a small loop at the top of the ribbon and glue in place.  This will be used to hang your sign when it's finished.

Trim the other end by folding it in half and cutting a piece off at an angle.

Begin adding your letters by gluing the ribbon down the center of the back of the rectangle.

Repeat until all of your letters are attached.

And there you have it!

A cute little sign for fall!
